As promised, this issue has the thing I alluded to inside it - two things actually.
visual philes.
This week was the season finale of The Good Doctor and as expected, it was an emotional one. This is the only medical drama I’ve watched but for some reason I just don’t want to expand to any others. I thought the ending was satisfying and tied things together well. I honestly would not mind if the show ended here. However, I thought season three had a good ending that tied storylines up so maybe my judgement for this one is off lol.
I finished BEEF this week and am split down the middle on the ending. I liked how it focused on the two leads characters and forced them to co-exist in one setting. However, the only problem they solved was the one they had with each other. All the other situations they caused remained unresolved. Perhaps this the point. In order to fix a list of mistakes, you have to start at the beginning.
I also started the new season of Barry this week and I think it’s really cool that Bill Hader directed every episode. Often, lead roles will direct an episode of a show they’re on and it’s really cool to see how they capture their character.
experience philes.
Based on the things I learned from the first time I made homemade chicken sandwiches, I expanded and made chicken nuggets! Not only did they taste great, they looked great too.
I also went to see my state’s symphony orchestra perform this week. Before you raise your eyebrows let me add that they were performing the music from Star Wars!
closing philes.
All I have to say is this month is off to a great start. Looking forward to what the rest of it has in store.
