phile 014: an eventful day.
Depending on who you ask, Saturday is for either doing everything - or nothing.
I know Saturday night has been the usual time but there are things I wanted to include in this one that didn’t happen until after the usual publishing time and day. Hope the wait was worth it lol.

The concept of being a YouTuber has changed as time has gone on but the transition some of them made to music has gotten reactions of all kinds over the years. Tabby is one whose album reactions were full of creative and humorous editing as well as heartfelt opinions. He dropped a project in 2018 titled peachfuzz! that I greatly enjoyed and now in 2023 he’s gearing up to drop his debut album. The first single “Cry Baby” leans more towards his indie bag that he showcased in parts on that debut project which was also showcased his rap ability.

Last Sunday I went to a young adult mixer at my church’s bowling alley and it went well. Doing something specifically for that age group is relatively new as the last time I remember it happening was when I was like 15? Maybe younger. It started with the ice breaker and it was who could get the most facts from people on their index card. Then we did a song game where you had to think of a song with the word they gave us in it. And of course, you couldn't repeat a song from a different team. Then we had a discussion that basically covered how we should turn to God considering everything happening in the world and we can do our part by bringing other people to Him. Once the discussion ended we just hung out in the facility so I played pool for the first time in awhile and I still did good! I met one new person, saw someone I play video games with in person for the first time in a awhile and spoke with someone I literally hadn't spoken with since like middle school??? They're years older so we aren't really close in age until now and lastly I reconnected with someone else I mostly knew in high school and that’s who I played pool with.
I promise the next newsletter is the last time I’ll mention my birthday. Since it’s this Wednesday (February 1st) I decided it’d be easier to do something with my friends Saturday and then go out with my family on Wednesday. After a little bit of planning and option picking I decided that I would invite them over to my house to watch the Royal Rumble (it’s a wrestling thing lol) and I’d cook for them. Some people wouldn’t want to do any work on their birthday - and I 110% get that - but I wanted give them a chance to actually taste the food I’m always posting on Instagram. I made BBQ meatballs, Mac and Cheese and there was salad too. Naturally, I had to add my own touch of decor, true childhood relics right there.

My weather app says we’ll be getting snow out here on Friday and I hope we do. It’s actually felt like winter the last few weeks and that would be the best way to keep the season going. We’ll see what happens.
Have a great week!
aye bro happy early bday! and i appreciate the shout in your initial 10 album list 🙏
that sounds like a fun challenge and can’t wait to dive in
